About me

Transsetter is a one-man business and was born on the 1st of November 2006. Transsetter is more than a translating company. Your text can also be made up into a professional brochure, newsletter or web text. Furthermore, there is also the Transsetter Translation Line (only operational in the Netherlands: 0900 - 400 7000).

Education

2005: Graduated at the HBO Maastricht School of Interpreting and Translation in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
Specialisations: English, translation, writing, business.
Other subjects: Spanish, translation, localisation, IT, presentation, translation memories (Passolo, Trados, WordSmith), making websites, interpreting.

2002: Certificate at the Colegio España in Alicante, Spain.
3-week advanced Spanish course (nivel avanzado).

2000: Graduated at high school Piter Jelles Montessori in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands.
Subjects: Dutch, English, French, mathematics A (= basic mathematics, such as statistics), geography, art and art history.

Interests

Language and culture. For instance, I have been teaching myself Norwegian for the past 10 years, and in March 2008 I started following a Romanian language course. I also like to read about the history of Dutch and English (for instance, books by David Crystal).

Computer programs and games. I am one of those persons who have to find out what all the options in a program do.

Doing puzzles, especialy Japanese picture puzzles.

Reading. I like to read English fiction by Jane Austen, Mary Higgins Clark and Isla Dewar.
